A total sum of N796bn was shared to tiers of government at FAAC meeting in April 2012. The highest recipients are Akwa Ibom that received N21.3bn followed by Rivers N20.8b, Delta N17.7bn Lagos N15.2bn, Kano N12bn and Bayelsa N10.9bn.The lowest recipients were Gombe N4.5bn, Nasarawa N4.7bn, Ebonyi N4.3n and Ekiti N4.7bn. Ministry of Federal Capital Teritory is now treated as if it were a state as it N4.8bn and FCT Council N1.8bn. The Minister of National Planning Commission, Dr Shamsudeen Usman has disclosed that more than 71.5 million Euros would be spent on Micro-Project Programme (MPP9) in the Niger Delta region.He said the programme financing agreement was signed in 2008 under an intervention scheme. The "The EU is to provide 45.5 million Euros, while communities, local councils and the state governments to benefit from the projects would contribute 26 million Euros," he said.
